I’m an internatinal student (junior now, but has lived in U.S. for 5 years) and if I decide to apply for financial aid, is it going to hurt my chances of getting in?

Financial aid for international students is extremely limited (although larger now that Canadian and Mexican aid has been merged with international aid).

If you are an outstanding candidate, you will be admitted, regardless of your ability to pay.
But admissions knows that aid is limited, and it is thought that they are effectively “need-aware” when considering internationals.

so what about scholarships?
Is it very limited too?

There are no such things as Scholarships at Ivy League institutions.

Only need-based financial aid.

Some countries will provide scholarships for their students, but that is not regulated by Cornell, but rather by your host government.

I can think of Singapore and India off the top of my head.
