<p>Does financial aid help pay rent?</p>
<p>Room and board is included in the total tuition costs, which is what is considered when granting financial aid. However, if you live off campus, you will not be charged room and board as part of your tuition and you will not recieve financial aid for it. </p>
<p>The exception to this is schools that grant room and board specific scholarships, and will sometimes give you waivers to use them off campus. This happens at Tulane, and I think the justification is that there isn’t enough on campus housing for everyone.</p>
