Financial Aid for Yale

Where do we start?
To put things into context, I am in the low income bracket and will hopefully attend based on need-based grants.
I’ve been hearing all sorts of things, that I need to start my CSS/FAFSA profile now, or later on.

Any official word? The Yale FA website isn’t helpful either.

If you’re a US citizen and applying SCEA:

[Yale University Financial Aid > Prospective & Transfer Students > Early Action Application Guidelines for U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Canadian Residents](<a href=“Welcome | Student Financial and Administrative Services”>Welcome | Student Financial and Administrative Services)

You’ll need the CSS and copies of your tax returns. The FAFSA is filed after January 1st. You’ll send this in after that date if you don’t get rejected (either deferred or accepted).
