Financial Aid Help! (Exeter)

Hello everyone! I’m an 8th grader from the Midwest interested in applying to Phillip Exeter Academy. I currently have some financial aid questions and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out!!

  1. Since Phillip Exeter is need-blind now, applying for financial aid doesn’t lower your chances of acceptance? (I’m pretty sure this is true, but there’s limited numbers of spots left, right?)

  2. My family makes ~ 260,000, and after-tax is 180,000. Am I still eligible for financial aid?

  3. If I apply for financial aid right now, would it be too late since the deadline is January 31st? Is this what “2nd round of financial aid” means?

  4. I emailed the financial aid team that I wanted to switch decisions (from yes to no), and they pointed out that not applying for financial aid won’t disadvantage you. So, if I switch back to financial aid, would it sound bad or would they not care?

Thank you all so much for listening to me. I’m new to applying to high schools, and any help or advice would be appreciated.

Since its need blind it won’t hurt your chances. I’m not sure if you’re going to get FA but one of my friends who attends Exeter is around your income range and he’s getting partial so I think you will get some, might as well try to get FA than regret not trying to.
