<p>When applying for aid, I said there was an extra person in my family attending college, as that was supposed to happen. Now, the extra person refuses to attend college. How much of my aid will be taken away because of this? And will it be mostly gift aid, or loans?</p>
<p>If there were 2 in school the parent part of your EFC will double. How much of your EFC is the student portion income/assets will depend on what student income/assets were reported on FAFSA (20% of student assets/50% of student income over @ $3200).</p>
<p>What is taken away will depend on what your EFC was and what it changes to. For instance if you had a Pell grant the amount is directly correlated to the EFC so your Pell would go down or even go away if your EFC goes over 4041.</p>
