I got 57,850 (2k in work-study) from washu when the tuition, fees, room, and board are 52,892. Even without work-study i still have more money then needed. what happens to the extra, do I get a stipend?

you can give it to me ![]()
i didnt get any

I talked to my financial aid counselor today. When they calculate aid, they take into account all expenses including travel, phone service, etc. in addition to the traditional “tuition, room, and board.” Therefore, the number they use is around 58K-59K.

The EXPLANATION OF YOUR AWARD booklet states:

“If your credits for the semester exceed your University charges, you will receive the difference either by check or by electronic funds transfer.”

It looks like we’re getting stipends.

thats amazing

You need to use some of that to buy your books. WashU doesn’t include BOOKS as some Universities do … my State full-ride included ALL the standard stuff + books, + $3K + an ITouch/Phone (your choice) …

yeah washu is awesome about financial aid.
im a ed student and i didnt have my permanent resident status at the time so i had to apply as international. they gave me 52,900 for room and board, tuition, fees and meal plan all totaling to 50,200. then i got my green card and all these grants came in. then they gave me a national merit scholarship.
so now my total is 60,000. from my #1 dream school too! :DDD
