Financial Aid Question

I have a college counselor, and he told me to apply for aid at every school because otherwise I’d have no shot of getting money. My parents talked to him about two weeks ago though, and he said children of doctors with college funds almost never get money. If we happen to not have enough, I’m getting a job this summer and during college, so I’ll be able to pay for those expenses. Because I’m not even going to send in the FAFSA anymore, should I call Georgetown (and all my other schools) and tell them?

Why aren’t you going to apply for financial aid at all? You have nothing to lose, right? Even if you don’t get anything, or if you get $100 per year, isn’t that something? Just asking.

I would, but my parents don’t feel like filling out the FAFSA and the CSS profile, and there’s no way I know half the stuff to fill out if I were to do them. I think I’m just going to call. I don’t want them to postpone anything just because I haven’t sent in the forms.
