Are we allowed to ask them to reconsider our aid amount? And if they agree to it, does the amount usually change?

There’s no harm in trying.

From what I’ve heard, the best way to get your aid reconsidered is by sending in the better aid letter you got from another school - Brown tries to match aid.

Yes, you can ask them to reconsider, but it helps if you either have a better offer from a competitive college – and they do not match merit aid, or, if there are circumstances not reflected in your FAFSA/CSS forms (like high medical bills) or new information (job loss). If you are going to ADOCH, you can meet in person with a financial aid rep, which might help.

Thanks a lot everyone!
