<p>I am on financial aid dismissal for unsatisfactory academic progress. I’m writing an appeals letter, but was just wondering what my chances are. Do many people actually get reinstated, or am I about as likely to end up in bed with Michael Jackson?</p>
<p>If it is the first time and you were not already on financial aid probation then you have a chance. My son was also denied financial aid a couple of years back and wrote an appeal letter. He was very polite, explained why the situation occurred and accepted responsibility for it (no excuses), said what he was going to do differently this time round. He also had spoken to the FA people in person. His appeal was granted on a probationary status and he had to meet all requirements for the following semester or it would be lost.</p>
