Financial Aid Update This Close to Decisions?

Hey,

I am really trying not to read too much into things, but I recently got an email requesting a copy of my Permanent Residency Card from a school whose decisions come out next week. They promptly emailed back saying they had updated my financial aid file, and thanking me for sending my information. This is a school that has upwards of 30,000 applicants a year:
My question is:

This close to decisions, would they even bother updating someone’s file who wasn’t accepted? Like I said, trying not to get hopes up or anything; I am just wondering whether this could be a sign of acceptance or simply a formality for all applicants.

Thanks!
