Financial Aid Workshops

"You and your parents/guardians are cordially invited to a workshop to learn about the Cornell University financial aid process. This workshop is for multicultural students who have already applied to Cornell University for undergraduate admission for fall 2011.

Workshop participants will receive an overview of the Cornell financial aid process, step-by-step instructions on how to complete the required forms, and advice from Cornell financial aid counselors. A representative from Cornell University’s New York State Opportunity Programs office will also be on-hand to provide an overview of the EOP and HEOP programs."

Anyone else get this? I’m in New York City and applied to ILR, if that makes a difference.
Both of the workshops that are mentioned in the email are also in NYC.

It probably is just another info session, except more specific. I felt like posting it though, because I’ve read on this forum that there were a few people interested in the EOP and HEOP programs.

Hey, I’m a junior in the class of 2012 and am looking forward to applying ED to ILR next fall
I read somewhere that doing EOP is like an automatic deferral… but also that it increases your chances?
Did you receive this notice after applying EOP?
I also live in NYC, I’m just wondering if there are any added perks or benefits for qualifying for EOP

the university is going out of its way to make sure you and your parents understand FinAid,try to take advantage of this opportunity.

My D is a 2nd semester Freshman now. I didn’t attend the workshop, but have found the financial aid department to be extremely helpful - they really go out of their way to be sure they do everything they can for you.

Just wanted to take a minute to give them a shout out!

Best of luck to all Cornell students!
