How often does the Financial Aid advisors every change or quit? I had the extreme bad luck to be stuck with the most snotty and impatient advisor this year.

Does anybody know how to utilized scholarships to purchase textbooks. I had around 5000 dollars in external scholarships but only 500 dollars came in so far, so I ended up paying for the leftover fee and all my textbooks out of my own pocket. Now I am worry that my 4500 dollar would go to waste before next term because I am sure that my leftover personal contribution next term would be below 4500 and I will still be stuck with the same dilemma of buying 900 dollars or more in textbooks all over again. When I talked to my advisor, he said that scholarships would show up as extra funds and when I asked if I could use my scholarships to purchase book he said something about extra funds and that whatever leftover would be refunded to me, which didn’t answer my question at all. He said the school doesn’t give student moneys to purchase books and when I had more questions to ask he acted all annoyed, so I just walked out after that.

Can anybody help me here? Is there another person I can talk to beside my financial aid advisor on this ordeal? Why doesn’t Emory give money to students to purchase books? My sister go to a state school in Oregon and she was given money to purchase her books. It just makes no sense.
