Finding a 2400er's Matches: Chances for Tufts, NYU + more

Herro all. So we all know the typical reach schools, but what I’ve been trying to find are those “match schools” in the 20-30 range of college rankings:

What I think could be potential matches are

NYU (Heard FA is awful though)
Carnegie Mellon
UMich
Boston College
Boston University
Tufts
Georgetown
Nortwestern (These two are sort of reaches, I think. You guys decide :/)

My intended major is Biomedical Engineers, so if anyone knows any other schools that are good for that, please tell me.

First Generation Asian Male from NJ. Public School.

So yeah. I know that there are better schools out there; but again, these are schools that I am trying to find as “matches”

Thanks!

Definitely look into Georgia Tech! A fantastic engineering school, although it may be a safety for you.

Look at Johns Hopkins University. It has an excellent BME program.

For your major, University of Washington (Seattle) would be a great school. With all your activities, SAT, and GPA, you shouldn’t have a problem getting in. Those last two on your list are reach schools for everybody, but you definitely have a shot at getting in.

NYU: Low match/Match
Tufts: High match
Georgetown: Reach
NWU: Reach
CMU: Match
UMI: Match
BC: Low match/Match
BU: Safety

For a bit ignore rankings and SAT scores … ask these questions …

Which schools have the major I want

Do I prefer a core, distribution requirements, or no requirements

Large/Medium/Small school

Urban/Suburban/College Town/Rural

Research U/LAC

Dorms or Houses

Frats being a big part of campus is good or bad

Religious affiliation … good or bad

Etc

Consider questions like these and you’ll end up with 10-15 schools across a range of selectivity
