I have a sophmore in high school who is starting to think about college. There are lots of search sites etc out there, but none of them seem to have information about autism/ special needs supports.
Does anyone have any information on this?

Hi
Where are located? There is a program at California State University Northridge (Los Angeles area) that has an interesting program for students on the spectrum called Transition UP. See below.
Transition UP is a comprehensive educational/support program for college bound students who are on the autism spectrum. It is completely integrated into college and university life. Transition UP seamlessly provides students with the full college experience, while supporting social skills, executive functioning, and personal development that enables graduates to successfully obtain and maintain meaningful professional careers.
Also, The Help Group is another organization located in Los Angeles that has a campus for high functioning to much lower functioning and nonverbal students on the spectrum. They have a transition program for teens and adults. Hope one of these helps.

I don’t know exactly what you are looking for or how far the student is willing to travel, but here are 3 different programs.

We have an autistic adult child. When we were investigating programs for him, the program that I felt would have met his personal needs the most is the Kelly Autism Program at WKU. http://www.wku.edu/kellyautismprogram/collegeandcircleofsupport.php
