Finding an out of state school

Let’s just say I don’t have the money to fork over to pay out of state tuition, but really don’t want to stay in my home state. I’d like to major in business of some sort. 3.8 GPA and 30 on my ACT. Is there any schools that will help meet my needs? Just rattle off schools that you think would fit!

Go to the Financial Aid forum and look at the stickied threads at the top. There are schools that will offer full tuition.

Some states have reciprocity agreements with other states, where do you live?

You don’t mention the state you live in and want to avoid. Here’s a possibility however:

University of Alabama - UA Scholar

[Out-of-State Scholarships - Undergraduate Scholarships - The University of Alabama](http://scholarships.ua.edu/types/out_of_state.html)

private colleges, especially those far away from your hometown (400+miles) will probably actually like it that you’re from out of state - that’s called “geographical diversity”.
Of course it doesn’t count if you’re in NJ applying to PA, or in CA applyint to AZ.
As intparent said above, some states have reciprocity agreements like Mn and WI, or WUE. Some state have agreements if you choose a major that’s not offered in state (however if you change majors and your new major exist in state, you must pay OOS fees): that’s the case in the SEC or in New England.
So, logically, to suggest out of state solutions, we need to know what’s instate for you…

you can not beat the price and the education is A+

Wow! Had no idea that 'Bama was that generous. Any other schools I wasn’t aware are like that?

Read post #2. There are entire lists on those threads…

Yes, Bama will give you a 2/3 tuition scholarship and has a very good business school.

<a href=“Home - The Culverhouse College of Business”>Home - The Culverhouse College of Business;

The campus is gorgeous, the academics are strong and the people are friendly. Tuscaloosa is a very nice good-sized city.

You must apply before Dec 15th. The app is easy, no essays, no LORs. and submit the scholarship app. It’s a formality, but do it…and it’s easy, too.

There are lower ranked schools that are similarly generous or more generous for your stats, but Bama is the highest ranked school that will, for sure, give you that large of an award for your stats.

A 2/3 tuition award is about $14k per year. The award WILL INCREASE if tuition increases, so that’s VERY good. The award brings down tuition to about $7k per year, which is lower than many states’ instate rates.

Visit the Bama forum here on CC…It’s very popular.
