Jim Rohn once said something along the lines of “you’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with”. Well, I spend time around practically no one (my social muscles have atrophied pretty hard), and live vicariously through personal development videos/podcasts/blogs atm. I was dealing with major depression and suicidal thoughts for about 4 years, but have been free of both (without meds) for the last 3 years. I started picking up the pieces of my life by picking up the guitar and learning Japanese through immersion around a year ago, and now I’m ready for the next phase by moving onto university.

Like the quirky title of this thread says, I’m interested in finding awesome people to surround myself with, and am interested in meeting people both online and offline when I go to uni. I suck at google search and haven’t found anything aside from support groups for various problems, and as for what to look for at university, I’m clueless. I’ll be needing to pick up a job soon, so maybe I can connect some there, but other than that, I’m not really sure. I’m confident I can improve, just uncertain how I’ll go about it at this point. Also, I’d be interested in some good places to find a mentor (if such a place exists); I’ve never had anyone I felt I could turn to for advice on things like life and college.

Whoever responds has my deepest thanks!
