Chapman is pretty far from Irvine if you don’t have a car.
That’s what I was thinking…There is Concordia University in Irvine which is less than 2 miles from UCI. Don’t know what their situation is regarding students and housing, but they are semester system so they would be getting out in May. Might be worth checking out.

Yes, I have discovered that, it is big! I looked up the transportation center mentioned and it is pretty far away from where she needs to be.
Thanks for all your suggestions. She has decided to wait to see if the corporate housing people come up with something, and if not will launch an all-out effort in a few weeks.
Is there any way that the group of them can rent a car? I don’t know how familiar you are with Southern California (and especially Orange County) but a whole world of possibilities in terms of nature, culture and entertainment will be opened up to them with a car. There are lots of low cost opportunities for enchrichment but they are very spread out!
