Our S has a waist about size 27-28. Would love recommendations on nice dress leather belts. He has bought a few and had them cut down to size, but would like recommendations of nice dress leather belts. Those we have looked at (even at nice stores) tend not to be high quality leather or they are more rustic and not so dressy.

He should get it made for himself. Tell him to go to his tailor and find out who is doing great leather work in the area.

He doesn’t have a tailor. He has purchased most of his dress clothing when in Thailand, as his size is fairly common there. He has no plans to go there again anytime soon.

He lives in Arlington, VA and frequently flies to LA and Orlando. Has not had success finding anything he likes to date.

Go to RalphLauren.com and look at Boys’ accessories.

Here’s a very nice one one: [Calfskin Belt - Accessories Boys 820 - RalphLauren.com](http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3190200&cp=1760783.1760917.1767607&view=all&omniselect=View_All99&parentPage=family)

It’s nice but LINED with leather. He’d prefer it be 100% fine leather.

I was always searching for “cut-to-fit” belts (like the one from Coach) when I had a 28 in waist, though sometimes would poke an extra hole in a 30 inch belt. At my age that problem has gone away. I hate those laminated leather belts made in China.

We have a custom leather person in Pike Place Market called Marakesh Leather. They have the option of plain or decorated. Tack shops and western wear shops usually have good access to leather workers. We just returned from Europe and the custom leather shops are everywhere.

There will be tailors and custom leather goods available in the DC area. In the US there is not a large market for an adult men’s belt at 27". I second poet’s recommendation.

While he is at it he should get some tailor made shirts. Just one or two. He will not regret it.

This guy is in DC.

Here is a sample.

Thanks for everyone’s thoughts. Will pass it on to S. Yes, it’s nice that he’s very trim, and he was able to get a lot of very nice shirts that fit him very well in Thailand, without any tailoring needed. That was one of the reasons he went there (plus he had a friend who was there).

HImom, the Ralph Lauren belt is, I believe, all leather. Both upper and lower.

Bullhide belts will custom make a solid leather belt. They measure the PANT size and add 4". They look nice on the website.
