Fingernail polish color for job interview

$32 in NYC for a regular manicure and pedicure. Mon-Wed it’s only $25 for both.

I’m not doing gel (my girls used to) because I find acrylics more durable (nail and color.) And less expensive to maintain.

I used to just do the regular mani-pedi with a neutral on my fingers and a bolder shade on my toes. The toe polish lasts and it isn’t very noticeable growing out so I don’t need it done regularly. I used to do a pale pink on the fingers but I discovered OPI Samoan Sand last year and I think I like it better. The manicure would start to chip on the same two nails after a few days.
About 18 months ago I did my first gel. I think it works great on all nail types when you have it on. The problem comes when you feel the need to give your nails a break. My nails are strong but they also are hard and once they get to a certain length they begin to break. They break hard and painful because they are so strong. What I like about the gel is that my nails don’t break. They grow out beautifully and if I chose a neutral it lasts a very long time. It’s a vicious cycle though. You put gel back on because once you remove the gel your nails are weak. I took a break from gels about two months ago. My nails are finally back to their pre gel health. I sometimes get a manicure with bluffing no polish. I will do gel again before my next vacation because I hate having a nail break when I’m traveling. Last fall I had a gel manicure before a 18 day camping trip and the manicure lasted the entire trip.
I am not a girly girl at all.
I can’t recall what I pay but I know the gel is significantly more at my Vietnamese owned salon. The manicurist at my hair salon charges the same price for regular or gel.

My older sister LOVES having her toes done and says they last a very long time. She favors sandals and slippers/flit flops, so her toes are often visible. Sometimes she does them herself and sometimes she gets them done at a salon.
