Finishing core classes establishes you as a junior?

I’m currently a freshman. After my second semester, I will have officially finished all my core credits, thanks to AP scores and whatnot. Does that make me a junior? I want to go to a study abroad program next fall but the program requires one be in “third year” or “junior” standing.

I would ask my advisor, but my appointment is next month so I was just wondering what makes one a junior or third year in other colleges.

If I’ve read your other posts correctly, you’re at the University of Georgia, right?

I think at most schools it’s based on credits.

I think it’s basically determined by earning 60 general education credits.
