First Communion gift?

<p>Well, unless you are close family I would stay away from religious artifacts. I know this sounds odd (and I did have two kids go through this) but you can over-do the religious statues, frames, etc. leave that to others…I would say a gift card or money would be great.</p>

<p>Something fun like a Computer game along with something religious like a rosary.</p>

<p>Parent of two boys who received several wonderful crucifixes, saints medals and crosses for their first communions. All are still being worn many years later, especially the medals of their patron saints. I respectfully disagree with the computer game idea or even gift cards. It is a religious occasion, not a birthday or graduation. A bible, prayer book or biography of the saints is another suggestion but that type of gift is more common for Confirmation. We gave our sons leather bound bibles with their names engraved on the front cover.</p>

<p>i think my church gave me that oh the places you’ll go book. But they may have given that for high school graduation… I forget!</p>

<p>My nephew’s First Communion is next month. I have been looking into possible gifts to go along with cash or a savings bond. I know kids enjoy cash but I also like to include something that is symbolic to the occasion. Here are links to a few of the ideas I have come up with thus far:</p>
