first FAFSA submission the one that gets used?

<p>Duke today said they will receive the first FAFSA submission. For us, these numbers are not to our benefit and were what we thought at the time, good guestimates. </p>

<p>Are we hurt by filing the FAFSA quickly and was it pointless to redo the numbers and resubmit?</p>

<p>When we can do the IRS link we’ll put in the final numbers, which are quite close to the 2nd time we submitted.</p>

<p>I don’t know what the other schools policies are.</p>

<p>Our CSS Profile is correct, but if they use the FAFSA, they will see different numbers and my S may lose out on federal aid.</p>

<p>I think you misunderstand…Duke cannot award federal aid based on a “will file” FAFSA status. They must use the final figures.</p>

<p>Doesn’t Duke require tax returns for all aid applicants? If so, they will make changes based on the returns, anyway.</p>
