is being first generation and Hispanic a significant advantage for competitive colleges like Vanderbilt?
in my opinion, being first generation and hispanic makes you competitive for a lot of places. however, those things may not compensate for low test scores/gpa unless you’re applying through a program such as questbridge. i’m not implying you have low stats or anything, but vanderbilt does tend to weight gpa and test scores heavily, so just keep that in mind!
