<p>I mean you could make it a good essay topic, but it’s not like they add “bonus points” to your application…</p>
<p>It depends on where you’re applying. If you’re applying to very competitive colleges like HPYS, you’ll stand out in admission in a good way.</p>
<p>There also are some colleges that have special programs for students like you. They may, for instance, invite you to participate in a summer program before you enter college. Some public universities have these kind of programs. They know that students who are first gen college or h.s. graduates may need some extra information/support to be well equipped to handle college since their parents aren’t likely to be able to help them in ways that students get who have more educated families.</p>
