First generation mexican American?

<p>My mom was born and raised in New York and my father was born in New York but moved to Mexico when he was 2 and was raised there. Would I be considered a “first generation mexican-American”?</p>

<p>Agree no, and it doesn’t matter. That is not what people mean when they say 1st gen. 1st Gen to attend college is the factor that many college consider.</p>

<p>First gen ethnically is the first one to be born in this country. My grandparents were born in Europe and emigrated. My parents were born here. They are first generation American </p>
