<p>I’m attending Santa Monica College in the fall as an out of state student. I filled out a FAFSA a couple of days ago and it said I will hear from SMC. How do I get the most financial aid/scholarships? I have good grades! =]</p>
<p>Since you are an OOS student, you won’t likely get any financial aid - unless you qualify for some federal grants. What is your EFC?</p>
<p>Did you fill out a FAFSA? If it’s low enough, you may get a little bit of free money from the federal gov’t, but not enough to pay all of your costs.</p>
<p>The OOS cost at SMC is $210 per credit. So, if you take 30 credits per year, tuition would be $6,300 per year, PLUS cost of room, board, books, etc.</p>
<p>the website says that they give out 300 scholarships per year. Considering that it will admit over 10,000 freshmen, getting one of those scholarships will be hard.</p>
