First Semester grades

On a 10 point grading scale I have an 8.5…I did really well in 2 classes (both As) and not so well in the other 2 (Cs) will that really hurt my chances of transferring to a top liberal arts school? I had good grades in high school…

bump
does anyone know how to get a 10 point grading scale to a 4 point one?

Assuming all of the classes provided the same number of credit hours, two As and two Cs would be a 3.0. If not, you’ll need to multiply each grade (4.0 for an A and 2.0 for a C) by the number of hours, then divide by the total hours to get your average.

8.5/10 = 3.4/4.0

Also, 2 x A and 2 x C = 3.5 for classes with the same number of credits.

3.4 is not good for top 10, but may be enough for top 20.

thank you!
