first semester sucks but it's pass fail

Alright… right now im at a tough college… and im in my first semester… i think i’ll end up with a bunch of Bs and Cs this semester which won’t appear on the transcript… as first semester is pass fail for me… the thing about this semester is not that the materials are hard… it’s just that i keep on procrastinating… keep on thinking that it’s pass fail… keep on being lazy… not turning in hw or doing any assigned readings… im really scared that i might continue being lazy in the semesters coming up and screw up my college grades completely? Is there a high possibility that this might happen? Also, would this settle for less attitude continue when things are not pass fail anymore? Has any had experiences that they screwed up pass fail semesters and end up getting As later?

based on what i’ve seen from other people i think the process keeps repeating itself unless you actively make changes to ensure you get the work done. just remember, if you work hard now, the same work won’t seem so hard when you have to do it again next semester (it won’t be the same exact work, but in terms of work load and assignments given). My theory is, the harder you work, the easier ‘hard’ work becomes to handle in the future since you learn what you need to do and not do in order to get things done. Essentially you learn how to work smart and not hard.

As far as procrastinating, what exactly is it that keeps you from doing work? Maybe there is a medium where you can let yourself procrastinate but also do work at the same time? Or perhaps where you can continue to procrastinate but at the same time give yourself enough time to get the work done at the last minute. I procrastinate myself, but I make sure to give myself just enough time to get papers/assignments done when they are due. I work best under pressure and there are others just like that. So don’t think procrastinating is necessarily a bad thing. It can work in your favor.
