I did a horrible job in my first semester, GPA is 0.58, but i was actually battling the death of a friend who committed suicide. I was living on campus at the time, but what are the chances my appeal will get accepted, anybody with experience? would gladly appreciate it. Also, should i apply to a community college right away, if i have to, i don’t feel like telling my parents, so i might transfer to a community college away, idk, excuse my thinking at this time, not sure what to do.
You need to explain your circumstances to someone. Anyways, you have a chance. This is your first semester not your last. You have plenty of time to bring up your GPA.
I believe if you can’t bring up your GPA to a certain amount by the end of your first year of college which is the 2nd semester you will be kicked out of school. You need to contact your academic advisers immediately and ask what can be done to lay out a plan. I also suggest applying to a community college as a safety as well.
