The main thing you have to worry about the ACT is time. You will ALWAYS be pushed for time on the ACT, so I recommend you take a practice one before you do the actual one to know your pacing.

I got this big, red ACT book. I can’t believe I forgot the name…but it was big and red! (Haha sorry that doesn’t help.) I also got this smaller book by Princeton Review. Just go into a bookstore and get any book that offers practice tests and tips!

The math isn’t that hard. It involves simple algebra, trigonomentry, and geometry. You don’t even need to know science in order to do well on the science. It’s basically interpreting graphs and tables.

Thanks a lot, unkn, that was the book I was talking about.

So now that the first question has been answered, then I shall move on:

Girls generally do better on the ACT. The ACT is also more for students who do well in class, while the SAT is all about knowing testing strategy. The ACT is also shorter, by an hour or so. I feel that the ACT is better, because you complete one section at a time. You can predict which category you will test in, and not flip to a random page to suddenly discover that you will be doing math or etc.

The time for each section changes. If you get the book I was talking about, then it will give you a specific time per section with the practice tests.

catsushi thank you for sharing great advices!! Really helped me.
But I have another question! What is an order(like SAT, 1)essay 2) random … etc ->) ???

It’s simple: English, Math, Reading, Science, and writing.

The science gives you less time than there are questions, I believe. I cannot give you specific time, but the time is over 45 minutes for some of them.
