First-year applicant again?

Hi – I just graduated from high school and am going to enter college in the spring.

I somehow regret not applying to this one specific college, and want to give a shot. As that college is the only college I am going to apply, I am going to apply ED. I was just wondering if I do so, would I still be considered a first-year applicant?

This eligibility thing confuses me a little.

I forgot to mention that if I end up applying (only if that is possible), I am going to hear back from them before the spring semester starts. I was also wondering if that violates any rules? I only intend to apply if it is okay to do so.

You need to contact the admissions office at that college/university and ask about this. Each place sets its own policy (and of course those policies can change from one year to the next).

Why don’t you just defer enrollment at the college where you are scheduled to begin classes this fall, take a gap year, and apply ED to the dream school? That might be a better plan.

Hi happymomof1,

That was really quick – I appreciate it.

I might actually need to give them a call to figure out if this is possible. I initially thought about this as I enter college in January of 2016, not this fall. This definitely causes confusion. I need to come up with a game plan, I guess…

Thank you!
