FIT Fall 2016 Applicants

Mine still says not yet reviewed

my financial aid says “application pending to be reviewed”, but then I have all the tabs at the top (award overview, terms & conditions, etc.)

Spoke to Admissions yesterday. They said letters were mailed on Monday, March 28th. Has anyone received anything yet?

I haven’t, but I know someone who was deferred today and apparently there are a couple waitlists.

what does deferred mean?

It means that you didn’t get accepted, but you didn’t get rejected. They will review the application at a later time, and I also think that it is based off of how much space is left.

Ok got it. I wonder if all the letters mailed on the 28th were rejections, deferral or waitlist? This process is awful!

Yeah I’m scared because I haven’t gotten anything that it’s gonna be a rejection letter when I do

@lvwoman I have no idea! I doubt it though. And yeah, I totally agree on the awfulness of this process!

@annafarrell I haven’t received anything yet either! You can’t let that get your hopes down. An admissions rep said just the other day that letters ARE sent out mainly based on region which explains why I’ve only seen 2 people from Florida get in and a ton from NJ, NH, PA, etc. It makes perfect sense.

hahaha ok thanks I’m literally sitting on my porch waiting for mail

I still haven’t heard anything… I’m so scared I got rejected again. I live on Long Island. I don’t know why I haven’t heard yet :frowning: I’m so nervous and scared

Nothing for me today

I applied as a transfer student and received my acceptance letter for Fashion Design AAS on 3/23, and I live in Manhattan. The letter was dated 3/21/16. I’m just curious why some applicants got their letters earlier than the April 1st date? Anyone have any ideas? I know that we were all told that letters would be mailed out together. I am excited but my situation seems comparatively strange from the general consensus.

GOOD LUCK!! I am rooting for all of you!!!

@notgforever Typically applicants hear before the date in mid-late March! They’re actually running behind this year.

@hausofemily Okay, that makes sense! Thanks so much for your quick reply! What program did you apply to?

No problem! I applied to Advertising and Marketing Communications. How about you?

@hausofemily Nice! I applied to the 2 year Fashion Design AAS program! I hope you get in!

@notgforever Thank you so much! Congrats on your acceptance

@hausofemily No problem! and THANK YOU!

HOLY MOLY I JUST GOT IN
