For all of you people that received your acceptance letters, were the letters in thick or thin envelopes? I know this sounds like a silly questions, but I am waiting for my envelope and was curious to see what others were like!
It says Congratulations in big letters on the envelope, there’s no guessing.
I’m international student, and I just got my DHL tracking number, it also has the package’s weight on it, so I am really curious if I get a quite heavy package is that a good sign or not…
My daughter started at Broome Community College fall 2016 and was just accepted into AMC. She had a 90 high school GPA and 1st semester GPA of 3.6 at Brooke. She also attended the FIT Open House in October and we went down again in February and did a walk in interview with Admissions to reiterate her interest. I’m not sure if this helped but I think it showed her passion for FIT. Keep trying. I’m a high school educator and I always tell my students there may be detours to your dream schools and you should take them.

I’m on a wait list for my major. I got my letter today, the date on the letter says 3/27/17, the mail date stamp said 3/29/17, im on Long Island area in NY. Congrats to all that got in! And to those who did not get in, keep on trying.
everytime i log in to the portal now it says there’s an error, and i didn’t receive anything yet but i live 2 hrs away from nyc, i don’t think i got in but i don’t want to give up…
@tiffanymin518 you’re in. The email is a confirmation and a rejection wouldn’t be in a heavy envelope.
@papaya0811 Be patient. I live in NY and i just got my letter today. Waaaay later than most people from my area.

Hi all! I’ve been following this discussion for awhile, I applied to Fashion Design 2 year but sadly got rejected today. I plan on reapplying for Spring 2018. I have doubts that part of it was because of my weak essay. Are there any FD majors or anyone in general accepted that could give some tips or share about their essay?
Hi all!! I was accepted to FIT for FBM 1 year associates program. I just wanted to tell anyone who would like any advice on transferring to feel free to ask me anything!! My story is a lot like many of yours, I was waitlisted first time around (Spring 2017). When I got that letter I fell to my knees and sobbed, I wanted to go to this school desperately. I then stayed on the waitlist, sent my grades from fall semester and still didn’t get off the waitlist. I had my application rolled over, used the same essay and just got my acceptance letter a few days ago for the 1yr associates program (which is harder to get into than the 2yr.) Please please please do not give up!!! I’m telling you the essay is what gets you into school and breathes life to your application. If you didn’t get in my advice is to reapply (preferably for the fall semester, spring is super competitive bc they can only accept the amount of people that leave which is usually no more than 50 spots vs 500 in the fall, depending on your major) and work really really hard in community college!! Also if you can, get a job or internship that has to do with fashion and write about it in your essay- they like to see that you are actively seeking out opportunity to work towards a career in fashion!!! @dizydee Is your daughter a high school student? She should enroll into her local community college and start off with general ed courses this coming Fall, even this Summer if she can. While doing so, she should start her application for Spring 2018 on August 1st. I was a transfer app that got accepted into FIT for the FBM program (2 years ago) that got denied during my senior year of high school. There are many applicants who have taken this route and got accepted. It all comes down to a strong essay and a great GPA.
