Fitbit - do I want one?

Jym–Best buy is showing “not available for shipping”. I’m running into that everywhere I look online, including fitbit dot com. They say orders won’t arrive by Christmas. I’m hoping the Target ones will be available in store once this storm passes!

When did you order yours? Cyber Monday??

Ooh, that stinks, VAmom. We ordered it over Thanksgiving weekend, Sat Nov 30.
Not available to pick up in stores either? Have you looked at places like Kmart, Sears or Walmart, where there might be fewer likely to think to check there?

jym626, if you want to track your sleep but you forget to put the Fitbit into sleep mode, you can enter your bedtime and wake time via the dashboard and the graph will still show you how often you woke up during the night.

VAMom2015, Walgreens.com had them a few days ago.

Thats creepy, patsmom!! I put it in and it said I was awake 6 times last night!! Can I go back any further, or just one night?

Lots on ebay, VAmom. Prices vary, though.

jym: when you’re in the sleep portion of the tracker you can use the arrow to the left of “today” to go back in the calendar and enter times.

Also, when you hover in the bottom portion/box, you will have the option to “edit” and you can switch between sensitive tracker and normal tracker.

RobD,
Does it let me go back more than a day? I only seem to see the option for current or previous day.

Ah, I see it. But it didnt put in any wake/sleep cycle for Thursday. Maybe I was dead.

When we had trouble finding fitbits in stock locally last summer, we found one at Brookstone.

You should be able to go back day by day and enter your start and end sleep times.

Hmmm-- I hope I wasn’t up as often or as long as it thinks I was. Do awaken frequently but usually can get right back to sleep. List sleep quality in the 70’s :(

Thanks for the suggestions. Walgreens is out of stock. Brookstone is out until January. I have a lead on a local store and will call them. Roads are thawing and I better try today as we are in for another snow event tomorrow.

Jym–I can’t buy on ebay without DH knowing, since it’s his account and all messages go to his email account. It would ruin the surprise. Guess it will ruin the surprise if there isn’t one under the tree on Christmas, either! :)

Maybe you can get a friend to buy one on ebay for you. Or wrap an empty box with a printout (photo) of the fitbit force.

Have you tried buying direct at Fitbit.com? Or on Amazon? I bought mine on Amazon.

See post #41 dmd77. Apparently they are hard to find now.

dmd–fitbit isn’t promising shipping before Christmas. Only ones I found on Amazon were for a much higher price.

I return victorious!!! I finally found one locally. I checked Radio Shack online and they were out but it let me check local stores. I found one at a RS that was fairly close to my house. I called to verify they actually had one. Drove out there just now and bought the only one they had in the store! Happy Camper here!

I don’t think I’ve had that much trouble finding a gift ever since the kids were little and wanted the latest craze. Now it’s the DH who wants the latest craze! Thanks for all the assistance!

Thanks to this thread, I got a fitbit for Xmas. I went for the zip because I didn’t want a pricey “toy” that had features I wasn’t going to use. I figure ill see how much I use the zip and then determine if I need an upgrade.

I actually went for a walk today to “try it out.” Very cool how the info comes right up on your phone. I hope this keeps me motivated!

Great story Limewire- definitely keep it up!!

Good for you, Lime! I have a pedometer similar to the zip. It can track miles (if I calibrate stride). But I like just tracking total steps. A low step count is good incentive for me to head out for a walk.
