I’d love to get a fitbit or Nike Fuel Band but we’re not allowed to wear them at work…thus no point!

If you don’t want a separate device or are not allowed to have a device there’s runkeeper - a free app. <a href=“ASICS Runkeeper—Run Tracker on the App Store”>ASICS Runkeeper—Run Tracker on the App Store;

They’re slightly different from each other so for some folks having both is best.

OK, now I’m curious. Soccergurl, why does your employer forbid the use of personal health trackers on their premises? Many firms offer them to employees with incentives tied to health care costs.

Soccer- why not? If it is because it shows, get the fitbit one and clip it on the inside of your bra, no one can see it.

We’re not allowed anything that’s not a battery powered radio, CD player, or non-connectable pedometer. Yes, that excludes everything from Fitbits/Nike Fuel Bands to cell phones to iPods to kindles to tablets to, well, essentially anything with a battery and the ability to connect to the outside world or a computer or both :)
