Well I was feeling good this morning my workout and decided to weigh. Made my goal by 1lb. Got to 155.5. Total loss 157.5.
Not to adjust to more weights and less cardio.

Amazing!!!
I always felt I was missing something by not doing cold water plunges, but not as much now.
Pat yourself on the back, what an amazing transformation for your health. Determination at its best.
Congrats! Huge physical changes. Do you see improved labs? Would love to hear about some of your non-scale victories.
Just got home from annual wellness check up. Doc said I could go off BP meds. Just monitor for a few weeks. He did give me a script in case I need it.
I will get blood work done later this week and see what it says.
I never been much of a go to the doctor person. Even at my elevated weight I only went once a year.
I took everyone’s advice about letting my pcp set up a meeting with her care nurse regarding the possibility that I am pre diabetic and how to handle that. So I said, okay, let’s set that up.
Turns out it isn’t a care nurse from the practiceI see, it’s a rep from my health insurance and it’s a phone call. I get 15 minutes to ask questions and they have health questions for me. I am underwhelmed.
well done
Just coming here to whine. We got another bunch of snow last night so they closed the fields (right choice driving would have been bad). But this means that I’ve played soccer once this calendar year and will likely only get to play 1 time in the month of February. I’ve got tickets for a show in 2 weeks which will mean no soccer put plenty of dancing
Oh my, it’s cold here… and we’ve had snow. (Often it’s just one or the other). It is supposed to be 2 degrees tomorrow when I drive to my 8am indoor pickleball open play event.
One thing I like about pickleball is that I can do indoor play (and even sometimes outdoor) when the conditions are not good for outdoor running at my local lake trail. That means I can “keep moving” in winter without too much outdoor walking in the cold.
Cold weather recently, and I was especially active for PB with some running too when weather permitted. Thurs - 90 min outdoor (later ran 3 miles) , Fri - an hour at 7am early/$10-court, then an hour drills class (later ran 3 miles), Sat - 2 hour ladder (Adv Beginner/Intermediate - I was probably the worst player there but enjoyed the play, spending most of the time on “loser” court), tomorrow/Thurs - 3 hour open play
Most of us who have winter are seeing quite a WINTER!
With 2025 and my “semi” retirement, I have a new routine of my usual 30 mins of something in the morning (this time of year usually cardio/HIIT videos) followed by a mile walk with the dog. After work I’m doing a 15 minute video (happy to up from my office chair!) and then walk the dog around 1.5 miles. Luckily even though he stops to sniff often he’s a fast Walker!
We are just warm enough that we haven’t had snow. Just buckets of ice cold rain with some sleet and snow mixed in that doesn’t stick. In some ways better but oh my it’s raining buckets. And it’s supposed to just keep coming!
Fortunately older S/FDIL got out of Reagan a couple of hours ago on their way to FL for a cruise. I was worried their flight would be messed up
Cold rain is my least favorite weather. I’d much rather be out in snow than in cold rain,
Yup. Monday I was running in precip. I was trying to enjoy it being “snow,” but in reality it was more like rain/snow and when it hit it dissolved and my feet just got soaking wet. Not quite as enjoyable as real snow.
Since I hit my weight loss goal I decided to come up with another goal to strive to attain. Having goals really helps me stay focused. So without further ado my new goal is to increase my swing speed in golf by 16 mph. I know it is a bit of an odd goal. But I thought about different fitness level goals and while some would be cool like run a 5K in a certain time or bench press a certain amount of weight. Those would be nice but wouldn’t really change anything that I really like to do.
Not to get too technical but swing speed in golf is the gauge of how far you can hit the ball. The farther you hit the ball the easier golf is only if you stay accurate. As I have aged I have lost distance and golf has gotten a bit harder.
I am way overdue for new clubs as my driver is 16 years old and my irons are 38 years old. I have told myself that I am not getting new clubs until I hit my goal. I have given myself until 9/15/25 to hit the goal.
@gpo613 - sounds like a great goal. Go for it and keep us in the loop.
Cruddy weather here, as well. I’ve actually been going to the gym at work to ride the stationary bike just so I can get some miles in. I am really eager for spring - though, spring is often a big disappointment in my immediate neighborhood (coastal area that often stays foggy, misty and cool well into May).
Congrats on your accomplishment and dedication @gpo613!
When I was driving to the gym this morning at 5AM it was 2 degrees. I am so done with this cold weather. Happens every year around mid February. I am ready for shorts weather.
Soccer last night was cold AF (temp in mid-20s with windchill in teens) but super fun. I scored in the last seconds
