Flaky Original College: Send Transcripts to Colleges Myself?

I spent a year at a college before leaving, and essentially starting over at a CCC. My original college is really flaky about sending transcripts, and I don’t want to have a problem because they failed to send them out of laziness.

Can I order 10 sealed official transcripts now, have them delivered to me, and then mail them to the colleges I’m applying to as they are needed? Or do some colleges require they be sent directly from the college?

I know UCs don’t need them until after the student is accepted, but some privates, including USC, want them up front.

Thanks!

I did this at the last minute when I transferred to NYU, because I honestly did not trust my CC to send them out on time. I just had them use an official school seal and then sign the outside of the envelope.

Yes you certainly can do this. In fact order one or two extras so that you have them on hand for future needs, such as when you apply to grad school. Just remember to keep them in a safe place.

I applied to 'SC and thats what I did …
