Flat sheet?

What do you use a flat sheet for? Would one use it as a blanket underneath the thicker blanket, or does one use it similar to the fitted sheet, covering the whole mattress?

Thanks.

When its hot/warm I just leave it like the fitted sheet. When its colder I use it as another cover because its good to have as many layers to keep in heat.

The flat sheet goes between you and your blanket or quilt. It’s a lot easier to throw a flat sheet into the washing machine/dryer than to have a blanket or quilt cleaned.

Some people prefer a comforter cover or duvet cover to a flat sheet. But it’s a bit of a pain to get the cover on and off, which usually means the cover doesn’t get washed too often.

I don’t use a flat sheet because I’ll start sleeping with it up around me all nice and cozy and when I wake up it’s bunched up in a heap by my feet and then I’m too lazy to fix it. I just use the fitted sheet and comforter

The flat sheet, in addition to the duvet cover, is a way to keep your comforter clean which minimizes the wear and tear on the comforter; sheets hold up to washings a lot better than your expensive comforter. If it’s cold, it adds another layer and multiple layers of warm air will keep you warmer than one really heavy blanket.

I never use flat sheets either. I just have the fitted sheet and comforter, and when the comforter cover gets dirty, I throw that in the wash.
