<p>Hey…don’t know if anyone is interested…but NYC is literally crawling with Navy/Marine Coprs officers/enlisted. Many ships are on site until Wednesday. I thought it was really cool to see soooo many Navy/Marine Coprs all over the place.</p>

<p>I went up there with my dad last year (CDR) and it was VERY hospitable. He said he helped out a mid who lost his ribbons, when he asked the mid what ribbons were missing, the mid couldn’t remember, so dad just gave him some random ribbons and said to wear them because nobody actually looked at them.</p>

<p>Went back home from Boot Camp (IIRC) and told everyone he was a Green Beret sniper who had been decorated for valor in combat.</p>

<p>The Army was NOT amused. You can imagine the flak (to put it nicely) he caught when he got back to his unit.</p>

<p>Please wear only what you have earned, and wear it proudly. :)</p>

He was an active duty cav soldier at Ft Carson CO. That pic was included with an article in his hometown paper along with a story under a headline about him being the youngest soldier to ever gradutate from the Special Forces Sniper school, as well as a bunch of other BS. Somebody found the article and posted it in the Lightfighter forums and several active duty guys over there went to work. They looked up his real unit and contacted his Top and his unit commander to tell them about the article.</p>

<p>As I recall, he received an article 15 with maximum allowable reduction in grade, maximum possible forfieture of pay, and maximum possible additional duty. Best of all is that for the additional duty he was required to report to the SF group in the uniform he posed with in that picture.

<p>Damn yeah it does. Why can’t people just be happy with doing their part instead of trying to be the hero all the damn time. You notice that all of the people that truely are the heros really don’t talk about it. Instead we have these posers trying to say that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread just so that they can be accepted by people they will probably never meet. This is so rediculous. Be who you are and nothing else.</p>
