so google docs give these flesch kincaid scores on readability and grade level
this explains them ([Flesch-Kincaid Readability Test - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Flesch–Kincaid readability tests - Wikipedia))
so on my college essay i got a readabilty of 80 and a grade level of 8
is there any significance to these grades or are they just silly little numbers?
also if anyone has heard about them and can give a better than wikipedia explanation that owuld be great also

Have you ever actually done the reading level forumla out? Its ridiculous and far too time consuming for adcoms. A lot of personal writing scores very low on that, and I’ve yet to see any colleges say that they take the F-K score of an essay and consider it for admissions. It’s based on the amount of syllables and the amount of words and has nothing to do with the content of the essay.

of course i didnt do it
google docs did it for me
and i was just wondering if those scores had any significane- like am i not writiing sophisticated enougth or whatever

My English teacher got a ninth grade score on it,haha.
