Flexing?

I have been going back and forth deciding whether or not to take 3 or 4 classes my last semester of senior. I currently have AP calc BC, English 4 honors, and Art 111 at my community college online. I need to work more this semester and any class I add just seems pointless like AP earth or Ap human geo which is nothing I’m interested in. I want to know how poorly it will look to colleges if I do so. My guidance counselor keeps trying to tell me it won’t make or break any colleges but I wanted to know what colleges really think about flexing? I have applied to a few highly selective schools but only having 3 class would really give me time to work.

Your GC is most likely right. The GC states whether your class selection is most rigorous or not. If, however, you already told schools in your application you were taking 4 classes then you need to notify them of the change. They do understand if you need to mesh work and school commitments
