Flip #7 Mid Century Modern Mold

Looks beautiful, cb. How about a nice bright chartreuse for the front door?? Someone in my neighborhood has that and I love it.

Turquoise or deep aqua. Orange would be nice, but some folks are very put off by orange.

Looks awesome!

I vote for sky blue or aqua for the front door - something light and bright that goes with the gray and white, isn’t too jarring, and brightens the entry area. If you’re drawing retirees, I would avoid anything too trendy. Or too unexpected X_X .

I don’t know about turquoise, it can be a bit jarring:

Not if you only paint the front door and leave the garage and shutters alone!

I like the idea of a grayish blue-green. Not too light or it will show marks quickly.

+1 to chartruese, aqua or orange. Love the idea of all three. All would have huge impact and if someone doesn’t like it, it is very easy to repaint one front door. I don’t think that would stop anyone seriously looking for a home.

When you google MCM doorways, you do get a lot of orangy red and orangy yellow. And teal.

This is a nice blue.

I have to say I really like that blue, @MaterS .

Right now I h ave a small sample of an orange to try out (similar to the mockup shot in the Flickr)

I know that chartreuse is a very popular color for the grey homes, but that blue linked above is just gorgeous!

I love the blue in post #548!

That blue is what I meant by sky blue.

I think you need to pick a blue or green that accents your fabulous tile strip in the master bath.

I stole that idea directly from Benjamin Moore. The truth?: I am an engineer with no sense of style or color.

That blue is like a turquoise to me. It’s pretty. I wouldn’t mind a true blue in same tone. Orange is my least fav color.

I really like that blue, and you should be able to get the name of the color from Benjamin Moore. Of course, it may look different on this house since lighting and adjacent colors have such an impact. An apple green (toned-down chartreuse) could also be nice.

The project is looking great, CB!

Blue is a soothing color. Relates to water, clear skies, and wind. Even though I like orange, it is a color of emergency, and lots of folks dislike orange. Some are not fans of apple geeen either. Right, @thumper1 ?

I really, really like chartreuse, and detest orange. I know there is another poster to these threads who dislikes green: we always disagree, lol. I though it was Very Happy, but apparently not? The blue is very pretty, but perhaps less edgy?

Here is a Houzz thing about chartreuse, that shows a wide variety of colors that fall within that designation.Used a lot with charcoal and in MCM.

Here’s a couple of blues that were recommended in a blog discussing colors close to the original Eichler exterior accent colors:

I’m one of the people who are not fans of orange or chartreuse.

I also like #548 blue. That would be my pick!
