I really like most of those kitchen pictures. Have been struggling with backsplash design. There is 8 inches between countertop and the big kitchen window. Most prefabricated granite, quartz and marble comes with a free 4" backsplash. I was thinking of running a custom 8" high carrerra marble backsplash around the countertop.
The beadboard backsplash is very tempting but I don’t really have a “break” at the kitchen area and I’m scared to run the wood behind the sink area.
Meanwhile my carpenter has figured out a way to cut the sink cabinet for the apron sink. Even though I ordered a special cabinet, my 29" sink is too wide for the 30" cabinet. They are going to have to cut one side open to drop sink into cabinet. They can only cut the left hand dishwasher side because the right side is a trash pull out. Hope the sink doesn’t look too lopsided

Personally, I’m a fan of subway tile back splashes, although I prefer a stainless panel all the way up to the hood behind the range/cooktop, because of cooking splashes that can be very hard to remove from grout and some tiles.
Love beadboard, but NOT a good idea to put wood behind the sink, I agree.
I am not a fan of stainless because it needs to be cleaned constantly to look spotless. Tiles can mask dirt a bit better (especially cream/speckled kinds of tile), and if epoxy grout is used, the backsplash can survive even a Ukrainian beet borsch explosion!

You are my hero, Consolation. I can stand a lot of things, but smudges on stainless is not one of them. 
Im just OCD about that; therefore, I generally don’t like stainless.
I don’t do anything special to my stainless but it always seems to look OK. I did discover that if I wiped off a portion of my fridge, I had to wipe off all of my fridge. [Insert joke] So I don’t wipe any of it anymore. [/Stop joke]
I have stainless and I usually really clean it good when we are having company come over. Otherwise it’s too much of a pain to keep all the finger prints off.

It really cuts down on the watermarks and smudges.
YMMV, it all depends on your local water chemistry.
I use Sprayway Stainless too and nothing beats Sprayway Glass cleaner!
Countertop guy can fix the problem with some simple cuts into the cabinet and noone will be the wiser.
Just received some pics of new siding in the blue green color and it doesnt look good. They may be repainting the front of house when I get back but maybe it will look wonderful in real life

Yes, I didn’t want to say too much but I’m in Cannes France dropping my D at study abroad. We flew into Paris and drove down through Fontainebleau, Beaune, Borgogne region and Provence to Cassis. By then I was so tired of schlepping her mounds of luggage and living out of suitcases that we came early to my Gorgeous rented apartment in Cannes.
Its been freezing cold, was actually snowing one day while I was trying to drive the stick shift rental sardine can!!we pulled into Lyon one night and could not find one room at the Inn, had to spend another hour driving south in the dark while snowing. Driving in snow is a foreign adventure for San Diegans.
But this is not a travel thread so I digress!
This is why I cannot load any pictures. I get pics sent to my D’s iphone but I cant transfer them to some method to load to Flickr

Yes, this all sounded like a great idea when I was going to have the house on the market and escrow closed or in contract by mid January. But no, I am now living off fumes and will have to pull another private loan ad soon as I get back in order to finish the property the way I want it done. Timing couldn’t be worse, but don’t really want to show it to my D.
