I found the listing on Realtor.com. The professional photos look AMAZING. Congratulations!!
Do you really need the barn door? I think it might just clutter up the living room. The bedrooms and bathroom already have doors, right?

I have loaded the professional photos onto the Flickr group page for those that have the easy link to that.
The barn door goes in the hallway. It’s my creative way to provide a ‘master suite’ to the buyers. The barn door will close up the little vestibule between front bedroom and bathroom to create privacy so they can walk around between the two.
cb, the photos are absolutely fantastic.
I love love love the blue ottoman in the living room. It makes the blue water in the views really stand out.
I also really love the colors in the master bath.
In the office, what are those rolled-up thingies on the floor by the wall?? They should go away.
On the table in the courtyard, you might cover the table with a brightly covered beachy cloth and set the table for a meal. I think that will make it pop even more and let potential buyers envision their sunset dinners on the courtyard.
Bravo, cb! It looks spectacular. I like the bare white tables (with flowers) in the courtyard. It looks clean, fresh and young to me. Good luck with the deck and barn door!
I loved the pictures too! The one thing I might suggest to edge/trim that little strip of grass between the street and the sidewalk. Oh, and I like the jumbo house numbers!
I too easily found it on that site. Looks awesome! I like how the numbers look from the street.
Yes, you are catching the ‘almost got it done on time’ items. Good eye. Those are outdoor rugs rolled up in office that my agent brought but they are totally the wrong color for the courtyard. I had no idea the photographer was going to take a shot inward and didn’t get them out of the office in time for the photos. Our weed wacker died halfway through trimming up the grass on the curb strip. I need to borrow someone’s weed wacker to get that done.
For the white table in courtyard I think I will buy just a ‘runner’ to add color and maybe set the table with some colorful placements and plates. It looks really barren to me right now and I need to dress it up. One of the issues is that I put up some strings of lights, but they really just look like a bunch of wires running across the patio. I tried to save money by stringing just plain white lights but I should have put up some of the nice globe lights to give it the right touch. Oh well
Might the courtyard lights photograph better if they were turned on?
Just gorgeous. I love the way the rooms flow. I hope you get clear skies and great weather for the broker open tomorrow.
(But I agree on the effect of a bunch of wires running across the patio. Might be a very different effect at night.)
Can’t wait to hear feedback from the brokers!!
I would take a photo at dusk with the patio lights on and see how it turns out. One more thing… I am crazy about night views when all the lights can be seen like myriads of stars splashed on the ground, and I suspect some others might share the same feelings. I would be curious to see a couple of photos showing how the views look at night!
Smooth sailing through the finishing touches and deck building, cb!
If anyone finds this thread, all they will find out is that everything was done meticulously, and they don’t have to worry about shoddy construction causing problems later.
BTW, what did you do with that adorable little milk box?
I love it. It looks amazing and the views look great. Years ago when we were selling our house I had a photo album that was just views including sunset views. When you are on the coast you never know what weather you will have at a showing. If it is foggy the buyer has no idea what is out there. I would think the rain while it slowed you down it helped with the photos since the sky is so clear after the rain.
Best of luck
Speaking of photoshop - your photographer did the right thing by touching up the photos. He did not try to hide flaws - he simply corrected the photos to reflect what a human eye would see compared to the camera lens. And the fire… that’s expected.
Eons ago, long before Photoshop became mainstream, we sold our first house. The use of color photos on RE flyers was a novelty feature back then, but we thought they gave much more realistic view of the house, so we chose to pay extra to have the flyers done in color. Mr B used our 1 megapixel state of the art Agfa digital camera to make photos of the house and the yard. Unfortunately, the gorgeous Fragrant Cloud roses planted in the front yard had finished blooming… Mr used MSFT Paint to touch up the photos and added “roses” where they would normally be seen. They were pretty realistic!
Hope the deck construction is going well…
Is there a link to the Flickr pictures and the MLS photos?
I’ve been following and I loved house last time I saw it.

I’m not sure if it has all the MLS photos, but it has a lot. Coralbrook didn’t want the address listed here. PM me if you want a link to the MLS.
cb, does the house have central AC?
VeryHappy, I’d wager that there is no AC. We’re roughly the same distance from the ocean, also on a hill and really only wish we had AC for about a week or so every year (usually in late August/early September). Even in the multimillion dollar homes near the beach you rarely see central AC. We do have a little portable unit that vents to a window for when the hot and still nights are unbearable, but didn’t even pull it out in 2014.
On the other hand, my MIL is not too far from CB’s house and the San Diego Airport’s “Quiter Home Program” paid to install double pane windows and central air to her 1929 house. Not that she ever turns it on because she doesn’t want higher utility bills and she’s used to the noise (and I suppose it’s the only time senior hearing loss comes in handy). Just checked – CB’s house in NOT in the flight path.
Thanks arabab.
Coralbrook, I can see why that earlier couple chose you to remodel their home. I love most of your choices. The bathrooms and kitchen seem very appropriate to a 30’s house yet modern. I love that blue vanity and when I looked at the link way back I was getting Googlelead ads for it. I must have gazed too long. The custom railings have a 30’s flavor.
