Flip This House #5

This is going to be the highest dollar project ever. I expect the remodel to take a minimum 4 months because I need to add square footage and go through several permit processes. And, I will need to get an architect involved to make critical decisions on where and how to make the addition so that I do not compromise the character of the house but be able to take advantage of the views. There may be a 2nd story in my future!

At this point I am short about $175,000 in remodel money. I am going to have to get out and start scrounging fast because the last thing I want to happen is buy the house and then be left just standing there, staring at it. No funds to pay for anything

Can you maybe put the address on the flicker page? That way it won’t go google-able?

I will either do the Flickr idea as a caption on one of the photos (I’m going to go investigate that now). Or, I will code it out here on the forum.

If I do the PM thing… about 50% will ask for a PM and then everyone that catches up later will start asking “Where is this? Can someone tell me?” and we will be PMing for months.

Just pulled the trigger at 4:45pm and signed the counter offer. I am now in agonizing waiting mode to see if other offer came back or not. I’m sure they are playing the same waiting game.

All I know is that, if I am the only one that came back at the allotted deadline, the agents better get the Sellers to sign the dang thing. On Friday I was told that the counter offers HAD to be back by 5pm and I scrambled. Other guy did not send offer back. Then suddenly yesterday afternoon he sends in a new offer and they entertain it. Why am I the only one that plays by the rules?

Then we can all become investors ;

I just added the full address to one of the exterior photos of Flip #4 in Flickr. I wasn’t able to find it, but I’m not exactly the Internet search genius. Maybe someone who is can check to see if they can find the photo in Flickr.

Not sure something like this would qualify for kickstarter or gofundme. Plus, I don’t think the 15 or 20 of us that follow this thread could come up with $175K.

Flickr captions might be searchable. But a picture of the address written on a piece of paper would probably be safe.

Yes, I could Go Fund Me and be right there with the kids raising funds for their band uniforms!

There’s probably about 9,000 more heart wrenching sob stories out there than my “Gee, can you help me buy a million dollar house?”

CB, did you add the address of the new place or the address of the last place? I found one with with address of the last place by going back through the pictures (not with google, it will take a little while for it to get indexed if they are being indexed).

I didn’t see a pic with a new address in the caption.

Your homes are a work of art so you should qualify for Kickstarter. =D>

No, I added the address of the last project onto an exterior photo. We’ll see if it gets indexed or not

I finally remembered to take some photos today while I was doing the foundation inspection. I have them loaded off my phone, but I am hesitant to start a new Flickr yet. Need to buy the house first

Ack! I finally decided to clean up my “favorites” earlier today and deleted links to two of your previous flips in anticipation of the new one. After paging through the #4 thread I finally found the link to Flickr, but I can’t see the address of the new project. Could you possibly give more of a hint about where in that collection to look? I scrolled through all the photos a couple of times but missed it. Old eyes and impatience are no doubt contributing factors to my failure!

Wishing you a quick closing and a smooth transaction. Can’t wait to follow along once again!

@zipyourlips the new address hasn’t been posted yet. The last flip’s address was added to a caption to test if google will index it.

The address to the new project is not on Flickr. I went back to an exterior shot of Nipoma and added the Nipoma address as caption of the shot. Just to test the theory on whether we can find address if it was on one of the photos.

Oh my goodness. I just failed reading comprehension. Apologies for making you patiently explain to me (after you had already clearly stated what’s going on)!

CB, to muddy the water even further and take the guessing out of whether a caption is searcheable or not, you could simply handwrie it on a piece of paper, take a pix, and post that to your photo stream. Title that Flip 5 or something like that… I doubt photos will be indexed based on what is handwritten on them.

Great idea!

I already suggested that in #346.

Don’t you read my posts?

As much as I’d love to see pictures soon, I would definitely wait to share pictures with us until the deal is official. And I like the idea of posting a picture of the address in the flickr album.
