Although after thinking about it, if the goal is privacy then even posting a picture of the address is probably too much, as is encoding it in a reply.
I’d propose that cb PM one of us the address (I’ll volunteer), and then everyone else can PM the designated person. That way it never appears anywhere, and cb doesn’t have to deal with it.
We need to be careful about posting satellite shots and street view links as well.
Oh boy! secret cells - like in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress - I’m in! I’m not stupid! I promise!
Nre, I read your post before you edited it.
eta - credit for that goes to you obviously as the first to conceive that idea.
Wouldn’t it work if cb simply “coded” the address in a post here? For example, if the address is 123 Main St 98765, she could type "010203 SMxaxixn SXtx 0908070605. We would simply remove the zeros and the x’s to determine the address. And this thread wouldn’t show up in any search.
Can’t it be placed in a secret private group without showing in searches? I “think” I have that on snapfish but maybe I’m naive.
It’s up to cb, imo. Whatever level of public disclosure she is comfortable with.
Why do we need to know the address at all? The photos CB posts are awesome and tell the story.
About Flip #4…was that driveway and basement garage only for golf carts or ATM’s? I mean, there is no way a car could maneuver that, right?
“Why do we need to know the address at all?”
Because it’s interesting and fun to check out the neighborhood, see what else is there, look at the satellite photos, etc.
So describe its location instead - going north from the intersection of fourth and maple, third house on the right. Has a grey roof.
Monday morning here and I have no word. No word at all. The agent hasn’t even told me if the other offer came back in. I’m starting to think that maybe the other offer never came in and now they are playing a stalling/waiting game. Letting him have all the time to come back with his offer.
If my sleuthing was correct, the other investor is planning to scrape the house and build a big new house. I can see that he made a terrible mistake on another purchase recently. He bought a small house and then, 1 month later, he put the house back on the market without doing anything to it. My guess is that he rushed into buying the property at top dollar and then the City told him it was historical and he wasn’t allowed to demolish the house. Took him almost 3 months to sell it, as is, at a loss.
He is stalling waiting until he can get into the City and figure out whether it will be deemed ‘historical’. But, I’m not sure how he is going to figure that out because they will not tell you anything until you submit plans and wait 30 days for ‘historical review’. Meanwhile, I am not concerned because I am going to preserve the house - it deserves love and renovation.
Oh well, I guess it doesn’t matter whether I get this project or not because I’m planning on winning that HGTV Dream Home. I love that house!
Correction… it took that guy One Year to resell the property for a slight loss.
Yikes. His carrying cost probably bit him in the rear, too.
As far as I can tell, he did not borrow funds to purchase the small house. It was all cash
I have just been informed that the other offer did come back last night. I have no idea whether he released his inspection contingency or not. My understanding is Sellers are making their decision this morning.
I’m an absolute wreck at this point! Can barely even run to the restroom… am glued to my email and cell phone just staring for anything to come.
"Monday morning here and I have no word. No word at all. "
Monday mornings are when all real estate offices have office meetings. .Most of those meetings are mandatory.
If you’re not willing to “up” your offer at this point then all you can do it wait…
