I don’t care for the fake candle look on chandeliers.
I love the one in #3839 but it says out of stock too.
Depending on your choice for the living room, some options for the dining room:

I actually think this would be very cool in the kitchen, especially if you put seeded glass in the cabinets.

To tell you the truth, I think it could be really interesting in the LR also, and work well to light the room because of its length.
Definitely lend the room some transitional/unconventional flair, in a subtle kind of way. ![]()
This one that Marilyn posted is awfully pretty:
Just spent some time with my agent walking through the house.
First I had the guys hold up the beams and she loves them. Crazy how different everyone is. Drywall getting installed today so I can put up some pics soon with a couple tacked up
Going to hold off with cabinet insert decision until countertops are installed. We are both leaning toward seeded glass inserts. If we do seeded glass inserts we want to put up the big round 2 tier light with seeded glass (same as Liberace family room) in brushed nickel to go with the coloring in the kitchen
That is also her favorite for living room in dark bronze but we will only put one or the other
Going to put the Ballard bird cage open one (just like hall bathroom) in dark bronze in the staircase
I really like the Lamps Plus Katarina (last one in Marilyns dining room ideas post) its not perfectly traditional but its fun
I think the Ballard Metropolitan is too contemporary…but I like the Reid’s-boulevard in @Consolation post.
And the Katerina is nice too.
CB…what is her reason for liking those beams in the master bedroom?
After the description of the difficulty of fastening the beams in just the right spot, I’ve been envisioning one of them falling off and hitting whomever was asleep beneath!
Believe me… I’m worried about that also:) I am going to make someone hold onto them and hang like a monkey to make sure they don’t come down!
Her reasoning is that we should add some character to the top floor so that it doesn’t look like a box added to the top
Are you putting a nice light in that ceiling as well? Personally, I think that would add more character than a fake beam painted white.
If you end up mesh inserts in the kitchen: http://www.lampsplus.com/products/frankton-industrial-22-inch-wide-bronze-chandelier__2r744.html
If you want seeded glass that looks like Sputnik: http://www.lampsplus.com/products/possini-euro-wired-32-inch-wide-glass-and-chrome-chandelier__w6919.html
We don’t even have any chandeliers in our house! And I would want modern/contemporary if we did…
I’m not a chandelier fan either. I would want something simple but nice. I think the black ones are nice. I am not a fan of any kind of crystal.
That makes sense. Now I understand.
And your agent has a good pulse on what works.
Yes, there is going to be a chandelier in the master bedroom, hanging about at the end of the bed. And another light fixture that complements in the sitting area ceiling. We went through some of the favorites here and have chosen the 3 sconces for master bath and the master bedroom lights. I’ll get those loaded soon
Bear with me while I go in all different directions with design decisions. I spent the entire afternoon driving around trying to find the main tile for the master bathroom that goes with my favorite inlay that I already posted. I lucked out at Lowe’s and found a matching wood plank porcelain that matches the inside of the arabesque inlay.
I loaded a photo to Flickr.
I am NOT going to put that wood tile all over the bathroom, only on the floor… remember that horrid flip that never sold that had the same wood type tile EVERYWHERE in the bathrooms??? it looked horrible
I have some neutral complimentary tile samples that I need to lay out and take photos tomorrow. Problem is… most ‘field’ tile now comes in 12x24 shape and that smacks contemporary. I found some that come in really large 24 x 24 that I might use for the shower walls
Mr. B REALLY appreciated your rooftop conduit! It is the touches like that conduit that make him excited.
Is there a 240V electric car plug in outlet in the garage? Mr. went bananas when he saw a Tesla charger in one house. Just saying… He wants that house.
He axed two townhomes because the thrones were not enclosed in the MB. Also very predictable! And I axed one with a gas oven.
Yes, I have a 40amp 240v outlet for car charger set up in the new garage! Yeah, I win with one customer
And we have double wall electric ovens
And an enclosed throne (that caused the freaking door dilemna!)
Mr. B is probably the only buyer (although obviously an armchair buyer) who will notice all those details inside the walls (and french drains through yard)
That sounds like some nice “dress up” for the master.
