Okay, this is a 30s house, which means chrome would work, but this is a 30s house built in a Spanish/Mediterranean Revival style! I find it difficult to see chrome or nickel or anything like that. Wow. This is a tough one.
I love the fanciful nature of this one:
So charming! I think it would be particularly delightful with the grey Hamilton vanity, which is my favorite, or the Savoy. I think that powder rooms are a great place for concentrated frivolity. ![]()
My sister used to have a co-op in Chicago in a fabulous classic building in the “Gold Coast.” (Graduate student friends of mine called it “The Palace in the Sky.”
It really was extraordinary.) The powder room was a two chamber arrangement: an outer room with a sink and mirror, and a separate toilet stall. All of the fixtures were black. They did it in a wallpaper that had small vivid flowers on a black background. It looked absolutely fabulous.
Especially in a small room with significant dark wood, rich colors can look just wonderful, rather than trying to “lighten” it.
restoration hardware has some interesting [large] chandeliers on SALE.
lots of other choices here:

Weighing in on the Living/dining/kitchen chandeliers, I think that if you want to have all three they really have to harmonize, since you can see them all at once.
Except perhaps the kitchen. If this were my house, I would want to have an island with a pot rack and island lighting–probably small halogen drop lights inside the pot rack–above it.
So I guess I could see a living room and a dining room chandelier being very similar, and the kitchen different. Or even absent.
Didn’t @Marilyn or someone post chandelier choices earlier in the game…when there was discussion about vaulting the ceiling and possible lighting in the LR? I remember liking those.
I just can’t picture a Crystal anything hanging in this house.
Living Room
I love love the champagne Quizol Jenna. Definitely going to buy those for the master bath. I’m just not sure that they will go with the antique style chrome and white faucet I was going to use in the powder room
I know we all went through some living room chandelier choices a long time ago. Don’t know how to go back and find them. These chandeliers definitely have to be dark metal and fit the Spanish style with a slight flair
Agree that living room and dining room chandeliers have to be similar and complement each other. But the kitchen chandelier is up high and isn’t seen from the other rooms because of the coved ceilings in dining room
what size IS ITEM#: 14430970?
the overstock listing says “18 in to 36 in "
elsewhere the ad says it is 27” wide.
27 " width seems way too small for the LR, unless you are putting in 2.
I like the 2nd one.
CB! I like both of those but I personally like the first one better…the Shea.
This is the style I was remembering from earlier on this thread.
Ballard Designs is having a sale now and they have some chandeliers that are really interesting for the house:
http://www.ballarddesigns.com/collins-12-light-chandelier/lighting/chandeliers-pendants/381606
http://www.ballarddesigns.com/carriage-house-chandeliers/lighting/chandeliers-pendants/167657
http://www.ballarddesigns.com/cosette-10-light-chandelier/lighting/chandeliers-pendants/209470
I’m afraid Restoration Hardware pricing is way out of my budget. Budget for living room is Max $500 and dining and kitchen chandeliers should be at $300-350
The Ballard are really interesting
I like the Ballard ones also. I already have #3 in brushed nickel hanging in the hall bathroom that was completed eons ago.
I like #1 but not sure that it is tall enough to make a statement in the room. The room has very tall ceilings, but narrow room. So, I was looking for tall, but not so wide chandelier. But, #1 or #2 might be good for dining room.
I also found this one which is the same one I purchased for the big downstairs family room at the Liberace House flip, but in brushed nickel for the contemporary look

But, I really like the rusty ropey look of the Collins that you posted.
I like the Shea fixture for the living room if the size is right.
What about something like this, if you need tall and not too wide? http://www.lampsplus.com/products/franklin-iron-works-alder-15-and-one-half-inch-wide-bronze-pendant-light__y2324.html
or
http://www.lampsplus.com/products/torrison-5-light-16-inch-wide-dark-bronze-foyer-chandelier__1f068.html
or (though it might be too expensive and a bit too contemporary)
http://www.lampsplus.com/products/savoy-house-windsung-bronze-4-light-foyer-pendant__1c301.html
Ideal height 36"
Ideal width 30"
The Shea is 42" high to the top of the bars and 27" wide. It might work because it has the height, although the height is with the bars, and not with any real lighting fixture. It’s definitely in the price range. Worried that it might be a tad too contemporary, but I know it is a popular style right now
The Franklin Iron works Alder is perfect for the dining room, but I need to select coloring and style for living room first so that I at least match the same metal into the dining room.
Love that light, but I think the circles in the Possini are a bit too contemporary for the Spanish living room
Here are the ones we discussed way back about March 30th!!!
Marilyn posted this one

Everyone liked this one, but I’m thinking it might just be a little too delicate for the room

And Marilyn’s post is #1615
The one that Zipyourlips posted in March from Ballard Designs appears to be no longer available
