Can’t resist. Here are some islands, all pretty different.
Here is the one that I liked many moons ago when I first started thinking about islands. I liked that it added another layer of interest to the kitchen
Here are the ones that my agent suggested recently

This one is a reasonable p rice and I like the stainless top

I think I would like one that has tall legs so that it gives the appearance of more floor space
I like the $1700 one. The others…meh.
Please don’t get the mobile cart from CostPlus!!! Everything non-food they sell is cheaply made, and that cart is ugly.
I also like the $1700 one but its out of stock. I’d found this but its really dark/ But I like that it has a pullout table.

My favorite for the price is the Sonoma from Amazon
I loaded some photos of our progress today with some descriptions
The best thing that happened today is that the Deck Waterproofing guys claimed that the views from my decks were outstanding. They said “We work on decks and rooftop decks every day and these views are the most outstanding we have seen” Yes!!! Add another $100k to that price tag
While the Kosas island is out of stock, some of the reviews are very recent.
Here’s an article written about the Flip or Flop Get Rich Quick Seminars (Tarek and Cristina have never appeared at one, even though their names are all over the invitation)

Another crazy sale in the neighborhood.
4635 Coronado 92107
Went into contract within 1 week. Sold for $1,165,000 for a grandma cracker box that ‘might’ have a great view if you add a 2nd story. That’s $1,015/sq ft
Wow!! if I could ask $1,000/sq ft we’d be talking about over $2.5 million!!
Recent activity in the same size and price range
4582 Osprey 92107 finally went into contract after lingering on the market too long. It was priced too high
Alhambra Spanish is still for sale, no action. They will need to drop their price soon
It says it HAS those views. Where are the sweeping view pictures taken from?? The top of the chimney?
There are views from the corner window in the living room, but the house was built in the 50s and for some reason they never built homes to maximize views in those days. There’s a lot of homes in the neighborhood that need to be remodeled to take advantage of the views. The photos are taken with a drone and some say at bottom right in photo “potential view from 2nd floor”

That is so funny because the listing clearly says “sweeping views”. Plus the place is sort of. A dump. Needs a total new kitchen, lots of renovation, and a lot of work on curb appeal. Yard is a mess.
Hmm… I’m not sure I’d want a portable island for my million dollar house kitchen. Maybe better to leave it out to look spacious and let the buyer picture their own choice, if they want one?
Or rent one for the staging
If it’s not a built-in island, I’d skip it. A buyer can add one if they want.
For right now I’m going to focus on some other things and worry about an island later. I’ll ask my cabinet guy if there is a chance to get new cabinets in 3 weeks or not. If not, I’m going to leave it for now
