I am currently a junior and need help. I’ve been looking at Florida colleges but don’t know which is for me. I was adopted in Florida which give me free college only if it’s a university in Florida. I have dyslexia which is very difficult for me. I’m also studying in art. I had ran into some lady at Publix over hearing me talking to my father about colleges and she said colleges in the United Kingdom is a great place to study art and they have great services for people who have dyslexia.(She’s from Ireland) so I had took her advice and looked into colleges in the United Kingdom and yes she was right but there’s questions I have such as, ‘’ Is studying art in the UK better than Florida in the US? ‘’ and I’m not completely sure how much it is to study in the UK but it looks a lot. I have a GPA of a 3.7 and taking 3 honer classes in art right now. First I’m wondering is studying in the UK worth it and better than going to a college here in Florida? Second is what college is the best for someone like me in the UK or in Florida?
Free tuition for FL state schools is a sweet deal. What type of art do you do?
I do paintings,life drawings,digital paintings/drawings,ink, sculpturing…
It would be cheaper to go to a state school in Florida. The UK is great, but it has its own set of challenges.
What is your SAT/ACT score? Your 3.7 GPA is unweighted?
U Florida, Florida State, USF.
UK tuition is very high for non-EU students. I’d check that out before considering.
The UK has good services for dyslexia- and so does the U.S. The UK is very expensive, no better for art and would require 3 SATII or AP scores (how high depends on which uni).
Strongly suggest visiting the Fl colleges, esp the art departments, this fall. I suspect you will find that you are drawn more to the art programs at some more than others.
